Definition
What is a compact heat substation?
Compact heat substation is a complete system of devices, fittings, pipelines, supporting structures, instrumentation and electrical installations, used to transform the parameters of the heat carrier supplied from the network and to regulate the amount of heat transferred to the receiving installations.
Substations manufactured by Elektrotermex Sp. z o. o. are made as modular structures, individually tailored to the room, door dimensions and transport conditions.
Basic equipment elements
- Heat exchangers
- Circulation pumps
- Thermal energy meters
- Automation and control systems
- Electrical switchboard and instrumentation and control equipment
Fittings used
- Shut-off valves
- Throttles
- Balancing and check valves
- Filters
- Desilters

Single-function substations
This type of district heating substations is most often installed in facilities such as residential buildings, service facilities, halls, schools or buildings with separate hot water preparation, in which one specific type of internal installation is designed (most often a central heating or central heating installation, less often a domestic hot water installation).

Dual-function substations
This type of district heating substations is most often installed in facilities such as residential buildings, service facilities, schools, etc., in which two internal installation circuits are designed (most often central heating and domestic hot water installations).
They can come in two variants:
- substations parallel with single-stage domestic hot water heating.
- substations series-parallel with two-stage domestic hot water heating.

Multi-function substations
This type of district heating substations is most often installed in service facilities, public buildings, shopping malls, schools, as well as industrial facilities in which several internal installation circuits are designed (usually central heating, domestic hot water and various types of ventilation or process heat installations).
They can come in many variants, depending on the number and type of internal installation circuits in the facility.

District heating substations powered by steam
Steam substations are sets of pressure devices in which the primary heating medium is steam. The heat is transferred to the secondary installation with installation water. They can power central heating and domestic hot water installations. and technological heat.
Most often used in industrial plants, factories and facilities with access to process steam. Due to the dimensions and specificity of pipelines, drainage and water pockets, steam substations are designed individually in a 3D CAD environment. It is also possible to build it in a container.

Substation equipment
From the heat exchanger to automation and measurement
Heat exchangers
- Brazed exchangers
- Bolted exchangers
- Shell and tube exchangers
Pumps and automation
- Electronic circulation pumps
- Programmable controllers/controllers
- Control valves with actuators
- Temperature sensors
Metering and construction
Heat meters for measuring energy consumption. Piping made of "black" steel, protected against corrosion and thermally insulated. There is an electrical switchboard and instrumentation on the frame structure.
Areas of application
Connection of the building installation with the heating system
They connect the building's internal installations with the external heating system – municipal, housing estate, factory, etc.
